Pauline’s Blog Has Moved

Welcome to the new version of my blog “Views from the Slow Lane”! It has a new name, a new location and a new look.

It was time to separate my blog from the Slow Europe website. Slow Europe is a website for finding vacation rentals in Europe. My blog is about me, England, travel – whatever.

Lately I have not been posting much because we have been getting settled in England and spending every free minute on the hiking trails. My legs have new muscles but my blog is weak. I hope to post more often now that I think of the blog as something different from the website business that I am building.

Yes, the new blog name “Slow Travels” is very close to the name of my old website “Slow Travel”, but just because I let go of the website does not mean I do not follow the philosophy. I am still a Slow Traveler, loving staying longer in one place, wanting to see more around the world.

Thank you to everyone who reads my ramblings and please join me in my new location.

  1. Wonderful! Just yesterday, I was wishing you were “around” more online these days.

I also really, really like your new theme.

  2. I love the new look, especially that gorgeous header photo!! Look forward to reading more of your daily life in England. 🙂

  3. I installed the “subscribe to comments” plugin and am testing with this theme. Chris, was there an option to subscribe to comments when you commented? My testing got all screwed up because I forgot to logout to test it – argh!

    1. There must have been, because your comment appeared this morning in my Google Reader, along with all the other comments on this thread.

      1. Thanks Chris, will do some searching to see if “subscribe to comments” is now a basic part of WordPress. Many things have changed in this new release. They now have a photo gallery option that creates a gallery of thumbs – or was it always there and I did not notice?

        1. I don’t think the photo gallery was there, because I’ve spent way too much time looking for gallery add-ons! I just came back from my walk where I resolved to do the WordPress update today (Crystaltech has some new WordPress stuff that I need to figure out at the same time) and get back to the search for a theme that I really like. The one I’m using now was just meant as an experiment.

  4. Hi Pauline,
Gorgeous photo! I am able to keep up with what you are doing through your blog so have not emailed in awhile, but will soon. Sounds like life is good, lots of fresh air and exercise. how long do you plan to be in England?
    Kelly.

  5. Hi Pauline!
I miss talking to you! Sounds like you’re having a wonderful time … if you guys stay in England until next July or August, I’ll come visit on my way to Dublin!
    XO, Colleen

  6. We have decided to stay here for a year at least. I think we will be here next summer – would not want to spend the winter with those short, short days and not have next summer as our reward! Would be great to see you Colleen!

  7. Congrats on the facelift and name change from me too Pauline! You’re looking great! I am now going to try to add a comment on your latest post about your daily life in the Cotswolds. It makes fascinating reading for a UK resident, not to mention for intending slow travellers!
